This website has been designed to be flexible for most standard screen resolutions and is best viewed on a desktop/laptop at resolutions above 1024x768. Viewing the website below this resolution means the viewport will be optimised for tablet and smartphone display.
Accessibility for the visually impaired
In order to improve accessibility for people with colour-related visual impairments, the website has been designed so that you can import your own stylesheet.
- In Internet Explorer select Tools > Internet options > Accessibility. Next click on any or all of three checkboxes to ignore colours, font styles or font sizes. In the same window you can change your style sheet by clicking the checkbox that says, 'format documents using my style sheet' then simply browse to your style sheet and click OK.
- In Mozilla Firefox select Tools > Options > Content then your chosen font family.
Other browsers may vary.
Alternatively, should you wish to navigate this site without colour:
- Internet Explorer select Tools > Internet options > Accessibility > Ignore colours specified on Web pages.
- In Mozilla Firefox select Tools > Options > Content > Fonts and Colours > Colours > then uncheck 'Allow pages to choose their own colours, instead of my selections above'.
Documents
Some of the files on this website are supplied in PDF format. We recommend that users download the latest free version of Adobe Reader to access these.
Our aim is to ensure that a majority of our PDFs are accessible.
Multimedia
We provide an increasing number of video clips on the site, to bring our content to life and to make it available to people who find it easier to view rather than read information. Currently we do not provide closed captions for video but plan to do so in the future.
Feedback
Maintaining an accessible site is an on-going process and we still have work to do to meet the standards we have set ourselves. However, if you have any problems using this website, or comments you would like to make, please contact us.
